Alexis Morel started out playing the transverse flute and went on to study at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, where he obtained diplomas in transverse flute, chamber music and composition. He also obtained a Superior Diploma in Music Analysis at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris.
He tried his hand at free improvisation, live performance, the stage, as a flutist and very quickly as an actor. He toured in musical, theatre and dance shows in France, Italy, Switzerland and Japan.
He composes music for fiction and documentaries (In the mirror by Manuel Mercier, Abyme by François Chabert, Plaisir d'offrir by Stéphanette Martelet, Le ventre, l'orage by Valentin Rapilly...), music for presidential campaigns, fireworks...
Alexis Morel often collaborates with other composers to arrange or orchestrate their film music (with Éric Demarsan: Notre Dame, La part du feu, Romance, Melville le dernier samouraï, Berthe Morisot, Signature, L'affaire Gordji - with Vincent Stora: Villa Caprice, Isabelle disparue, La douce empoisonneuse, La dernière campagne...).
He composes music for dance ( Ange. Qui si je criais ? and Les Gravitations with the Tempo Cantabile company, Riz Complet with the MÉTAtarses company...), for the theatre ( Le Songe d'une nuit d'été, La Nuit des Rois, Le fil à la patte, Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, Roméo et Juliette and Les Femmes savantes directed by Camille Roy, Léocadia by Jean Anouilh with the Quand même company, Exercices de style by the L'Écho de la clique company...).
He has written the music and words for two albums of French songs ( Cent soleils by Gelsomina, and Héros Chics, by the eponymous duo) and songs for theatre and cabaret shows ( Atypic solo by Marjolaine Alziary, HEN by Johanny Bert...).
